Hi all, my son keeps various types of snakes, including a Pueblan milk snake. For Christmas I made a segmented that imitated the pattern. I was surprised by how close the colors are, I used ebony, yellowheart, and padauk. The ebony didn't take the wood glue very well, but it held together enough to get it done.

in working with most ebonies, because they are oily all the way through, rub acetone with a cloth on the edges being glued and then glue. CA does better than most wood glues for ebony and epoxy does well also. But rubbing with acetone will help.

GREAT looking pen! Love the colors!

Wow. Those colors are right on the money. The snake even looks convinced he found a friend. Very nice.

I wouldn't; enjoy your sons hobby but you sure did a nice job with the pen.
