Big shout out to @hooked who, along with family, made this incredible blank.
Mark writes that it is "box elder burl with alumilite."
The color is amazing. I find it funny how introducing a dyed stabilizer highlights the organic composition and pattern.
It's inspiring to see what blanks he (and many of you) are able to make!

Love it! I like your center cuffs/collars (not sure what they're called) made of wood. Any comment on how you made them?

Hi Tom- Thanks for noticing that. I prefer replacing standard slimline centerbands with scraps of wood. It seems like an easy way to take more control over the design. Here are a few more pictures of the process in case it's interesting.
