Redheart, Purpleheart and Yellowheart fountain pens. Jr. Statesman kits with CA finish.
We aren't very creative with those wood names, aren't we?..
(Also, I managed to Improve my images a lot just by setting my phone's camera exposure and saturation to manual mode and increasing them a bit).

Very nice. Yes, it took a lot of thought to name those woods. My wife has a Slimline pen with purpleheart that I made at a Woodcraft pen making class.

I believe there is a wood called brown heart, too. Yawn. At least you picked the colorful "heart wood" varieties.
Never heard of brownheart or seen it. Need to check on that one.

By George there is a Brownheart. I have to keep my eye open for some of this. Looks like another wood I have in the pile somewhere but I can not remember the name. Learn something every day. Thanks.

This one sounded like a really silly name since most wood is brown. The grain reminds me of wenge with a little more contrast between summer and winter growth. It does make me wonder the grain patterns would maybe not turn all dark when a finish is applied. I suppose I shouldn't take over this thread with wood discussions, but there's a couple more "heart" woods for you to try out @Amihai. Would be interesting to see them all lined up.
