Two Streamlines with Royal Poinciana ( thank you Mark ) and Ebony.
Wow! What is that pen kit named? Very niceTwo Streamlines with Royal Poinciana ( thank you Mark ) and Ebony.View attachment 323206
Thanks Dan. There's plenty that you can do with Streamlines as there's more timber to play with compared to a Slimline.Well done, Alan. I've never been a big fan of the slimlines or streamlines in this case, but your work has me rethinking that position. I really like these two pens.
Feel free, Mal, though I didnt think that the design was unique in any way. That's an idea for segmenting that I'm going to copy ! ! !
Hello Mike. These kits are sold in UK as Streamlines. Most suppliers here stock them as such and are only fractionally more to buy than a Slimline.Wow! What is that pen kit named? Very nice
Hey Larry, thanks for your comments, and as I said to Mal, I didnt think that is anything that hasnt been done before.I really like the way you dressed up what is basically a lower priced kit. I think it's the first time I've seen segments only around the center band. Perhaps you will start a trend. Like Mal said, I think I'll copy the design also. Thanks for showing.

Thanks Jon. Less is more sometimes!!!Those look great! Love the segmenting, simple but beautiful.
Hello Mark and thanks for the comments ( and the timber )I'm late to the dance as usual! Very nice Alan. I have a few blanks still from you that need tending.
I love the combination and the attention to the dimensions with the double center bands. Very nice Mate!
Hello Todd. When I stayed with my sister on the Australian Gold Coast I was struck by the beautiful street trees which were mainly Royal Poinciana ( Delonix regia ) Sometime later Mark @mark james posted a photograph of a lovely pen he had made using this timber.Nice! I've never heard of Royal Poinciana before. The open grain gives it a nice look. Bet you have to be careful of getting contrasting materials in the pores. What did you use for finish?
Thanks for the comments, Michael. As always Alan very creative. I also like these kits because of the extra wood.
Great design as always.
My pleasure a job well done. Thanks for the comments, Michael.
