My mother, whom I take after so much with all my crafts, has been a craftswoman for most of my life. She has her hands into all sorts of things, usually involving yarn or thread! I decided to make her a crochet hook set for her birthday, with one rather incredible double-dyed pen blank I picked up from @Benpen here on these forums.

Thank you, all! The blank is just mind blowing. It looked interesting from the outside, but once I'd turned it down a bit it just had the most intricate detail I think I've seen yet in a pen blank.
I have more of these kinds of blanks from @Benpen, who sometimes sells on these forums. I'm now really looking forward to turning them.

Yeah, they are excellent blanks. I really wonder how he does the double-dying...looks incredible.
