Latest pen, rollerball this time, chrome and black navigator. The faceted nib really sparkles when you spin this in the light. Used a silver-dyed silver maple burl blank I'd had sitting around for a while. The blank had a terrible tapered cut, and I kept avoiding using it, even though it was an incredible blank, as I could never quite figure out how to drill it. Drilling was a problem...couldn't get a good grip, and when I tightened the vise enough to hold, I ended up getting an oval hole. Ironically, I'd used the wrong (too small) bit, and was able to drill again, and was able to get around hole in the end.

Glad I was able to make something out of that blank, because wow...!

Thank you all, for the kind comments!

This was my first more "simple" pen design...I've been turning more ornate kits, as my first fountain pen was for a customer that wanted something particular. Its amazing what a simple pen design can do when paired with the right wood!
