So there are the first 2 segmented pens I have made. The one is mahogany with walnut rings around it, the other is hodge podge of cut off woods (spalted holly, african blackwood, mahogany, bubinga, elm, etc). The one is a cigar kit while the other is a fantasy twist kit.
The multi-wood blank is a style I don't like turning, it is hard to gauge cut evenness. It messes with my depth perception. Turned out decent though but I personally like the mahogany one better. But hey, we all gotta start somewhere.
The pictures were taken in a pop-up photo box I got off amazon. Spiffy little thing, came with LEDs and various solid colored backgrounds. All plastic so it folds up for storing. It was a generic brand but there are lots on amazon.
