This is a Beaufort Ink Sirocco in gold and gunmetal, from Turners Warehouse. The blank is a Woodturningz inlace acrylester called Desert Oasis (thank you Dave!). I used my normal polishing regimen: 220-600 grit wet; all six grades of 3M Zona wet; Meguiar's 105, 205, and #9. Made a great looking pen.

Good looking pen, Jim.
I like the look of the Sirocco and used it a lot in the past, though found that there is not a lot of meat left on the tube, so is not so good for segmenting.
I tend to use Beaufort Ink's Etesia kit now which is better if segmenting.
How did you find it for your casting?

I didn't cast the blank, if that's what you mean.

If you mean how thick the material is, it's fairly thin just like the Sierra style kits which also take a 27/64" drill bit. When using acrylic, you need to make sure the blank is opaque (which this one is), or paint the blank and tube, and color the epoxy. I do that a lot with translucent blanks.
