Hope you like them I'm not sure of the Fountain Pen I think it needs more doing to it to make it interesting. Don't want to sand the body to match the cap because that's not turning maybe some Lamination. I find the Bocote on the Twist Pen always an interesting Wood which I've only just discovered.
Please feel free to comment its the only way I will improve.

I like them both although the curves on the twist pen are a bit large for my taste but if it feels right in the hand it generally is right!

Well thank you Ian for your comments it feels good but I take your comments on board. I try to take the plainess of the blank. I see many pens on this site with no skill in turning but a fancy pen kit to make the pen attractive.
I realise this opens up a whole can of worms and it's just my opinion.
I also see a lot of work with a lot of effort and loads of skill.
That I think is what makes the IAP an interesting site we see so many variations.

thank you for your honest approach to comments. Ihave modified pens like this to make it easier fir a friend with arthritis to hold so again " if it feels right it probably is "

Totally agree with your observations and that is what make IAP worth reading , for the inspiration , challenge and information

I disagree with the "no skill in turning" comment. I believe it does take skill to turn a "shapeless" pen. I personally don't like so-called "fancy" pens or "fat" pens. I prefer pens with symmetry to their shape. Beads and coves are distracting to me, but I fully appreciate the skill involved. I turn all my pens with either straight bodies, or a slight bulge. Having said all that, I do know a lot of pen makers and customers do like these pens. Like the Vulcans say, "I rejoice in our differences."
 
Well if we all used the same Kits and the same Blanks using the same technique wouldn't that be boring. It would also lead to very poor conversation.
I think we find a level that suits our capabilities and use that as a base and from there the sky's the limit.

Bocote is a beautiful wood with exquisite Grain. Finished one in it. Easy to turn and work. Waiting to sort my Camera to show n Tell !!!
Like the Olive Fountain Pen. Simple yet beautiful
Am too new here to know otherwise !!!
