Hi all,
When mother-of-pearl is embedded in black Urushi (a technique named Raden), it can be very flashy. I wanted to make a soft raden, for a classy but not showy pen. The French touch maybe?
Sweet round mop dots of different diameters from 3 to 1mm, no gold as often but a silver powder (nashiji), like clouds in the night. I choose a matching clip made of sterling silver (from Silver pen parts, thanks Mike!) and I added a thick piece of mother-of-pearl on it. As often with Urushi, the pen has a high gloss finish.
Quite hard to photography, I am not sure the pics show it as it is...
C&c welcome.
Enjoy!
