I made this pen to celebrate the annual day of sunshine we get here I Wales, known locally as "Summer". I could have picked a number of different things as inspiration for a sunshine pen, but I decided that the features of a watermelon are distinct enough to be able to make something that resembles it without a multitude of colours and textures. So here it is.
The green parts are two types of acrylic and I made the red flesh part myself from alumilite slow epoxy. I did polish the entire pen to a gloss finish but then cut the red to more of a satin effect as I felt this made it more realistic.
It has m13x0.8 triple lead cap threads and the barrel steps up to 15.3mm diameter. The overall length is 143mm and it takes an international standard converter. The nib is a Jowo no6.
Cheers
