It has been a while since I made a cigar pen. A friend sent me a big box of wood he collected around his yard. Some of the chunks were from a peppercorn tree he helped a buddy chop down a few years ago when the two buddies lived next to each other.
Well, my buddy asked me to make a pen out of the peppercorn. He requested a fancier type of pen since the mutual buddy is starting his own business. This is what I came up with.
I stabilized the chunk of peppercorn. It was pretty gnarly. Picked a gold Big Ben Cigar kit for it. Sanded through the grits and micromesh.
Hit it with several layers of thin CA. Sanded 400 grit and then 800 grit. Finished on the buffing wheels with Tripoli and White Diamond.
My buddy loves it. We know our friend will too!
