Old green cellulose

Some of you may be familiar with this vintage cellulose. It comes pre-drilled and is fairly thin. I like the feel of it so I wanted to make the section from it too, so a little extra work there but nothing too tricky.

Great looking pen !!! . Very well done !!!

I assume that the end and cap are black .... nice contrast with the vintage green.
 
STUNNING! That has to be the best finish I've seen, the threads even look perfect, no small feat. The black compliments the lovely green cellulose.

Yes black finial and cap. Due to the fact the rods are so narrow to begin with you have to make a decision on how to close the end and I went with black acrylic. I did consider going for smaller threads allowing me to use the cellulose material to make the cap but it would have been smaller than I personally like so I kept it at 13mm and went for a different cap.

The rods come already turned to around 13mm and are pre-drilled out to around 9mm (it does vary a little). So I went for 13x0.8 cap threads and 10x0.75 section.
The pen is around 140mm closed and 136mm inc the nib. The barrel is tapered to allow the cap to post.
