This is not what I was going for, but not disappointed either. I turned a PSI Compson click tube with purpleheart, sanded to 500, and then dropped it in bleach for about an hour and a half. I let it dry overnight and then put back on the lathe for a CA finish. It really brought out some unique grain of the purpleheart. I thought the gold metal finish went well with the olive color. Thanks for looking.

That is different. Not sure I ever heard anyone trying to whiten purpleheart. Always hear they want to keep that color purple. Wonder what would happen if you left a piece alone after you bleached it. Did the bleach take all the oils out of it.

I am wondering, though, whether the color will change again with age.
Also how any residual moisture from the bleaching might affect the CA.

I've never seen purple heart this way. Seen and did a few Wenge that resemble it. They stayed that way after sealing in CA. Guessing that one will too.
