This burl oak blank is from Winchester Cathedral, in Hampshire England, and was given to me by my good friend, Ian. The timbers in the roof and those supporting the bells have been there for the life of the cathedral and occasionally modifications need doing. This blank was salvaged from modifications that needed attention in the bell chamber. The cathedral is well over 900 years old.
