This is how I have the Harbor Freight Vac adapter setup.
I took it out of the plastic housing.
I left the long tube attached (it was in the plastic housing) and attached a fitting to it because I was concerned about the quality of the silver metal threads stripping out if I tried to put a fitting into it in the block.
It works out great this way because when it is attached to the pot is sits over the pot instead of hanging out over the edge.
