"Danu's Desk Set" - This set was handcrafted from beautiful shimmering Japanese camphor wood inlaid with three maple Celtic knots and placed in matching gold plated knotted design sculptured settings.
The three wood pieces that comprise this set were cut from a single block of camphor which, when treated with 100% pure tung oil like these, shimmers in the light. The grain of the two pen pieces was re-aligned on assembly to keep its integrity. Each ring of the lovely golden maple Celtic knots was individually inlaid in an overnight process.
The pen opens with a twist and write smoothly in ballpoint black ink, and ink refills are available in any office supply store. All the gold plate pieces in the set are coated with a thin epoxy coating for durability. The wood pieces were sanded up to 10,000 grit and then coated in 9 layers of cyanoacrylate, which was buffed to a high gloss shine, ensuring Danu's Desk Set will stay beautiful for years to come.
Danu is the ancient mother goddess in the Celtic Irish tradition, mother of the fairy-folk, and patroness of craftsmanship, fertility and plenty. As mother of the fairy-folk, she's close to the land and waters. She represents richness, inspiration and return to the source.
