By any definition I'm very much the amateur pen turner (3 months). However, when i made this pen, using the Panache Pen kit, I didn't have a pen blank big enough so I scratched my head, looked around my garage, and found some closet liner Cedar wood. Only a 1/4" thick, I glued several together, then cut it down to a 1" x 1" x 6" blank. The end result is in this just as amateur photo. I believe the unique quality was the knot in the wood that was in no way shape or form planned.
