My dad gave me a chunk of Catlinite (pipestone) that he bought down visiting family down in Pipestone, MN. With some of the scrap pieces I had left I made this. While the stone he got was not from Pipestone, it is almost the exact same stuff, just not as dark red. It is a very soft rock and turns easily with wood tools. The powder is great for inlay work as a bonus. I searched google and could not find any other pens made from Catlinite. The other things I made with the stone he gave me was a 6" candle holder and a pipe.
