I think some may be lost without any descriptions here [#4 specifically, it is amazing, but what is it?], but wow :eek: Amazing work from everyone!

WOW !! After looking at these pens, I feel that it is an honor just to be included in the top 10 !! I also feel that a small discription would help to determan the amount of thought and work that went into some of the entrys in this and other contests. Jim S
 
I don't know how the judges were able to decide on these 10. I couldn't even come up with the top 25! Great pens guys, great pens!!

I agree though, some basic descriptions would be helpful.
 
These pens give a new meaning to "A-game". "A" as in AWESOME.
I did decide which one I would like to own but any one of them should make someone proud.
All of them are winners and like others.......I would have enjoyed a discription of each pen just to read all the effort in them.

My decission was not an easy one.
 
Sorry I failed to get this posted with each entry.

entry 1
This pen is made from the Majestic pen kit from PSI. It is turned from Stabilizedblue dyed Buckeye Burl and Tasmanian Eucalyptus Burl segments. I haveutilized thin aluminum sheets for the accent bamnds between the twospecies of woods. The custom finial is turned from the samematerial...outer ring of Buckeye Burl, then Eucalyptus Burl with a1/8" aluminum center. Finish is CA polished to a highgloss.

entry 2
Using a Platinum/black titanium Sierra kit, I used 0.003 alum foil cut to sizeand 'punch' to give the rivited effect. After gluing the foil to thetube, I then diassembled an antique Swiss wrist watch (unknown date,as there was no sn#) and bent the gears, watch face and other internalparts and glued them to the foil. I cast the tube in polyester resinand then turned, polsihed and assembled thepen.

entry 3
This pen is made from Brooks vintage seriesblanks and is segmented with pickgaurd. It is reverse painted blackto hide the tube. The kit is an Atrax Rollerball with postable kitinstalled.
entry 4
Mini pine cones were homecast in sparklineg blue,glittering white and transleucent red Alumilite. The kit is a Jr. Genttwist Ballpoint. What appears to be dust in some images is the sparkleof the colors.
entry 5
Millefiori polymer clay pen covered with Flowers andHummingbirds. This pen is a Sierra ElegantBeauty.
entry 6
The pen is a Continental Fountain pen kit in Chrome. I made the blanks from Polymarclay, turned, and finished with 6 coats of thick CA.

entry 7
SegmentedThuya Burl, American Holly and African Blackwood set on a SterlingSilver Cambridge. Thank you for youconsideration.

entry 8
Triton Twist BPkit; Lower barrel eucalyptus burl with matching CB and Finial. UpperBarrel - vertical segmented with Eucalyptus burl, white oak andaluminum; framed with horizontal segments of bloodwood &aluminum.

entry 9
feathers onamb. burl .... jr gent kit

entry 10
All Hearts! - Redheart, Purpleheart, Yellowheart. Aluminum accents. On a Marksman Eagle FountainKit.

I'm disappointed that I didn't make the finals.I guess I just have to vote for someone elses beautiful pen.So much to choose from.eeny,meeny,miney,moe..

With so many (49?) entries, I still don't know how the judges were able to get it down to these ten. They were all amazing.

Don't be disappointed, there were a lot of entries and only 10 for the initial pick. You shouldn't ever be disappointed for trying, it improves your skills and makes you try new things. The fact that you entered is a success! There is also always next year too.

With lots of griping at ME for making 10 the cutoff. :eek::biggrin: Unfortunately the cutoff was announced long before the count neared 50 entries.

I can see where it may make it tough on the judging, but the 1st cut of 10 gives more pens a chance to be recognized and considered that other wise may have gone un-noticed. I think it was a good choice. Thanks for a well run contest.
