Went out to Russells Point, Ohio today to visit some old friends. They just purchased 15 acres... we walked it and he has walnut, walnut, some more walnut... and then over there... even more walnut. Lots of Large Osage Orange, Hickory, and Honey Locust.

I picked up some Hickory and Osage (that's in the claw). He has some Osage that is 34 Inches in diameter. Going back later to cut that up. A mighty mighty Walnut had fallen back in the brush. He is going to have to clear the area, so later we can get in there and cut it up. I may have so much of all of this... I may be willing to sell. Does anyone have any sizes in mind you'd like? (This will be a long time project) They live 3 hours from us.

Nice haul. Friends with land and trees are the good kind of friends for turners. I prefer to leave the logs longer until ready to use. Fewer ends to check and crack. Have fun harvesting and turning.
Do a good turn daily!

Oh, I ran out of time, what is not pictured are the ones I had already taken the pith out of. Today those get the pith removed and the ends waxed. Rough them out next week.
