Presuming the ideal diameter of a bottle stopper blank is +/-1.5 inches (38mm), what do you consider the best length?

I like 1.5 x 3 inches, mainly because I can use them for shaving brushes and bottoms of tiny birdhouse ornaments too. This allows me to produce a lot of blanks at once, whether milling down wood or casting PR blanks, without having to make the same project repeatedly. It's very convenient to have a large stash of a generic size blank on hand. If it's a bit long for a particular project I part a piece off and throw it in with my cutoff stash, it will get used eventually.
