Finished up some cocobolo slimlines this evening. My first time working with cocobolo. I ordered some blanks a few weeks ago and ended up getting shipped 5/8" blanks, they let me keep them for $0.25 each and sent me the proper blanks, I decided to use up some of the 5/8" on slimlines that I give to coworkers. I was surprised by the color of the blanks after turning them down, the raw blanks were almost a uniform dark red. I assume that they will slowly oxidize back to the dark red color. Three down, seven more ready to turn and finish.

Very nice looking group of Slims, and not an easy pen to make IMO.

Thanks Jay, I agree, there isn't a whole lot of room for error with slims. Assembly is kind of a pain too. Thankfully I solved one of my headaches with this batch of slims -- I made a wood tray for keeping the blanks organized (kind of like the bacon tray idea), this was a huge improvement to having them rolling all over the workbench.

Thanks to everyone for the kind comments and encouragement!
