This is my first Band-It from Exotic Blanks and I have to say it turned out very nicely. The wood is some locally sourced maple burl that I stabilized. The center inlay and matching finial are green opal. Comments and critiques always welcome.

That is really nice. Of the recent newer kits this has to be top of the line for moving towards eye-catching designs vs bling-themed kits. JMO.

Beautiful timber and nice finials, beautiful work.

great job!

may I ask how you do the finial with the opal?
It was pretty easy. I just punched out the original finial center, plugged the hole with a little thick CA. Set the opal in place with thin CA. Made a small jam chuck and turned it to size.

Ahh.... I was figuring you made it somehow off the cap and then put it on there

That is required on pens that are plated. These are stainless steel so it allowed me to create it directly onto the pen part. Was actually easier than the center band.
